Meet the Hologram

Posted on 21 Nov 2016 @ 4:11pm by Commander Korrath & Lieutenant Commander Arivek Zhuri

Mission: Prelude; Breakfast at Curmudgeon's
Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: MD 4 1030HRS

The holodeck was a marvel of modern technology in Korrath's opinion. It was able to create anything and everything with a mixture of photons and forcefields. Korrath would let himself forget where he was when on the holodeck. He enjoyed recreating battle's, with particular emphasis on ancient battle's. Today, it was the battle of Klach D'kel Brakt. Korrath enjoyed the battle of Klach D'kel Brakt, it was the hopelessness of the fight that made it so great.

He brought his bat'leth down, feeling the blade jolt in his hands as his blow connected with his enemy. As he felt the jolt, his excitement grew and he whipped around to strike another blow. His instincts were on overdrive. He could hear everything and he was picking out his targets based not simply on what he could see, but also what he could hear.

The battle flowed and it finally came to an end, the battle won. His gi was dripping with sweat as was every part of his body. "Computer, End Program." He instructed and the scene of Klach D'kel Brakt disappeared. A smile formed on his face as he made his exit. He had enjoyed himself immensely.

These battles enabled him to practice his martial arts, exert his natural Klingon tendencies, stress relief and great for his fitness levels.

He quickly showered and cleaned himself. He had opted to get up early this morning to complete his exercise. He dressed and made himself presentable for his day ahead.

Engineering was his first port of call this morning."Engineering". He instructed the turbo lift once he had entered it. He was intrigued to finally meet the Chief Engineer. Mainly because he was a hologram. How it had happened, Korrath wasn't sure. He hadn't had time to review his full personnel record. The doors parted and he took the short walk down the corridor to Engineering. He approached the blue male that he assumed was Zhuri. "Commander Zhuri?" He asked the blue man before him.

Arivek turned to see who was asking for him. "Commander Korrath," he said, extending his hand. "Welcome to Engineering."

Korrath took the extended hand and shook it. The formal human greeting. The greeting that was used by Zefram Cochrane to greet the Vulcans on 4th April 2063. It was poignant that it had now become universal through the Federation . "Thank you, Commander." He said releasing the hand. "Everything fares well here I trust?" He asked.

"As well as expected," Arivek said in reply, taking a quick glance about the room. "A new ship is expected to have a few kinks to work out, but so far she seems to be quite solidly built."

Korrath nodded."Have you found the kinks?" He asked the man as he followed his gaze around the room.

"Those kinks will only be found through time," Arivek said. "There is no way to find them without allowing the ship to go through her paces."

Korrath nodded, understanding. "Very well. Is there anything I can do or attempt to get you to make your job easier?" He asked the holographic engineer.

"Unless you suddenly have a degree in warp-field mechanics, I doubt you'll be of much help," Arivek said, starting to get a bit annoyed by the man standing there. "Is there something else I can help you with, Commander? I have a lot to do and very little time to do it..."

Korrath noticed the slight change in attitude. He tilted his head at the man slightly and raised an eyebrow. "I understand, Lieutenant Commander" Korrath said, but adding emphasis on the rank. "If you find there is anything I can do, let me know." Korrath added. His demeanour had changed. He wasn't happy with the clear disrespect he had given the first officer. He turned and took his leave from Engineering.
