Mission: Episode One: Back on the Highway to Hell
Location: Primary Science Lab - Deck 7
Timeline: MD 5: 2100hrs

"Alright everyone!" Alexandra DuQuesne called out to the other science officers, "USS Voyager. Stardates 54208 to 54890, particularly the months surrounding Stardate 54868.6, I want to know every alliance, every friend, every thing that Voyager did that could be useful to us now. I want it all on this desk here," she pointed down at her work space "in 48 hours."

"Um," someone said, "And you are?"

Alex blinked. "Oh shit. I knew I forgot something!" she shuffled on the spot somewhat awkwardly. "I'm Lieutentant Junior Grade Alexandra DuQuesne. I'm the Assistant Chief Science Officer."

"You mean Lieutenant, right?" the same person said, pronouncing Lieutenant in the fashion typical of those raised in American style English.

Alex looked at him. "If you like." she shrugged, the argument to correct him would not be worth the effort, at least at the stage, "And you are Ensign James Tiernan, yes?"

"Yes, ma'am."

Alex grabbed a PADD, and quickly brought up the roster of the department. She'd read it earlier, but she needed to check. There were 3 Ensigns and numerous enlisted. Tiernan was the senior most Ensign by virtue of his age, and only by a year. And he also spoke up, so...

"Ok, everyone keep listening up." Alex said, everyone was still looking at her, "Until Lieutenant Commander Aral Aix returns,"

"Lieutenant Commander" James corrected under his breath.

"I will be acting as department head in a minimal capacity," Alex continued, ignoring Tiernan's correction, "so if you all could follow my earlier order that'd be great." Alex then turned to Tiernan, "I guess you can be my assistant of a sort."

James inclined his head in acknowledgement, "What would you have me do?"

"Manage them," Alex said indicating the other science officers, "and collate their results so I can form my report for the senior staff."

"And what are you going to do?" James asked

Alex headed toward the door, "Find somewhere to get a drink..."
